Originally produced in the mid-1970s at the time of political unrest following renewed attacks on the Black Trades Union movement, this series called on artists to ‘resist’. The series included Bruce Campbell-Smith, Nial Kramer, Michael Oblowitz, Paul Stopforth, Rosemary Hochshild, Marlene Dumas, and the originator of the series, Gavin Younge.
His promise to misbehave forms part of his new solo show entitled Deep Skin, that opens at Espace Cosmopolis in Nantes on the 17 June 2009. The exhibition features 15 new works and a catalogue by Maud de la Forterie and Nathalie Miltat.
